Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is an Mexican American sportscaster. She currently works for ESPN as a anchor for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. In 2016, she joined ESPN. She is the daughter of the reporter for television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was bilingual since the age of nine years old. It was a helpful ability that allowed her to secure her first position in the production department for Univision in Miami which provided her with the opportunity to collaborate with producers of National programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then, the CBS affiliate located in St. Petersburg employed her as a sport reporter. In 2009 she moved to Rio Grande Valley to work as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Reports on her show covered immigration issues drugs, immigration, as well as other issues on both the Texas and Mexico border. She was also an anchor and Spanish reporter for the newscast at 5 p.m., an anchor and reporter for the newscast at 9 p.m. on English and again an anchor and reporter for the newscast of 9 p.m. in English, as well Spanish reporter from 10 p.m. She also filled in for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. In Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd November 1985. She's more mature than her younger sister. The family relocated to Miami following the move from Mexico to the US. After a short time, her father divorced from her mother and she then remarried in 1995 a naval architect whose name was Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. It was on a summer vacation that she stayed with her younger sister at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured a job. Antonietta was a senior in high school having a clear idea of where she would like her life to be like, visited Mount Union University to determine if the school suited her. She loved the campus. It also gave her the major that she desired. Her high school graduation was in the spring of 2004 and began studying media at the college. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU, of which she is a member. They formed a strong relationship. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to be confident and was greatly moved by his passion for journalism.
